Kate is a primary MFL specialist, an experienced classroom practitioner and is nationally recognised as a well-respected figure in the world of primary languages.

  • Primary Languages consultant working for PLN

  • 15+ years with PLN as a primary languages teacher

  • 5 years training and supporting teachers

  • Speaker at national conferences on primary languages

  • Expertise in practical application of teaching primary languages

  • Has worked with major organisations including ASCL, NASBTT, ALL, British Council and Ofsted

The consultancy gave me the opportunity to ask questions and discuss how French is delivered using the PLN scheme in our school. Kate gave me some great ideas on how to use a near-native speaker throughout the school to further promote languages and reassured me that we are moving languages forward.
— Vanessa Collins, Coordinator. Bebington Primary School

About the consultancy

Who is a consultancy suited towards?

  • Coordinators wanting a whole school audit from a primary specialist

  • Schools needing advice starting out in their primary languages journey: building coordinator files etc.

  • Members and non-members of PLN (membership not required)

  • Schools looking for Ofsted deep dive preparation

  • Coordinators requiring some advice on their next challenge in primary languages

What does a consultancy consist of?

A consultancy is an in-depth discussion, online or in-person (costs vary, see below). After the session, Kate will build a formal report with action points for you to work on and will arrange a meeting at a future date to share progress made (shorter session). Kate will provide ongoing support and communication throughout, sharing resources and documents tailored to your school’s needs and development.

The consultancy is an opportunity to make great strides forwards in your languages provision under the guidance of an experienced and supportive specialist.

I found it very useful and it’s also made it very clear as to what we need to work on. Plus it’s given me some ammunition to get the teachers on board too! Some of those actions, I’ve started to implement already – I was very impressed that you had already checked the website before – as per OFSTED!
— Steve Eardley, Coordinator. Michael Drayton Primary School
